About Us

Athens GA Orthodontist Dr. Tradd Harter, Dr. Alex Culberson and the team at Classic City Orthodontics strive to create beautiful, healthy smiles that last a lifetime in a caring, comfortable environment. We are the area’s only orthodontic specialist to use suresmile and are able to utilize a variety of treatment methods – from braces and aligners, such as Invisalign® and SureSmile® Aligners. We use this cutting-edge technology to coordinate treatment with your entire dental team during the smile design process. We offer SureSmile® Advanced, a custom treatment planning system that helps achieve better accuracy with less time in treatment, fewer office visits, and reduced discomfort compared to traditional orthodontics. With two convenient locations in Athens, Georgia and Watkinsville, Georgia, Classic City Orthodontics makes orthodontics fun! We can't wait to welcome you home to CCO.

Meet Our Doctors

Dr. Tradd Harter has been creating classic smiles since 1999. An Anderson, South Carolina, native, Dr. Harter was drawn to the Athens area because of the community’s love of family, food, and of course football! A photographer, motorcycle enthusiast, and hunter, Dr. Harter enjoys all of the natural beauty that Northeast Georgia’s outdoors has to offer.

Dr. Harter received his B.S. in Biology from Furman University and his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (DMD) from the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine in Charleston, S.C. Dr. Harter completed a residency program in orthodontics at the University of Missouri at Kansas City, where he earned a certificate in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics.

Dr. Harter has two sons, Gavin and Aidan, who attend Prince Avenue Christian School.

Dr. Alex Culberson was born and raised in the good ole state of Georgia. From the peaceful lakes and beaches to the rolling Blue Ridge Mountains, he has grown up with an appreciation for a state that has a great deal to offer. Grateful for his upbringing here, he loves to help those around him by creating beautiful, healthy smiles that last a lifetime. “Dr. C”, as his patients know him, is proud to be the only practicing orthodontist in the Athens/Oconee area with a degree from the University of Georgia.
